A practice to make space for your desires ⤵️⁣ ⁣ In order to experience what we desire, we must make space for it.⁣  ⁣ If there is something you want to welcome into your life and within yourself, one of the first and most empowering things you can do is to intentionally decide how to create this space.⁣  ⁣ Today I’m sharing with you a small but powerful practice that I like to lead my coaching clients through. It’s a set of self-reflection prompts I started using for myself awhile ago, and it holds the potential to unlock an empowering path forward to making space for your desires.⁣  ⁣ I call this exercise receive and release ✨⁣  ⁣ These two prompts will help you get clear on what you truly want, and what is taking up space in your life that is no longer serving you.⁣  ⁣ Once you’ve answered these questions, you can think about one small thing you could do to make this a reality. How can you go about making this receive and release happen?⁣  ⁣ You can come back to this exercise again and again, checking in with yourself and your desires, goals, dreams, wants, and aspirations, consciously and intentionally shedding what no longer serves you so you can make space for what will.⁣  ⁣ So, what do you most want to receive within yourself and in your life? And what do you need to release in order to receive that?  ⁣  ⁣ Let your intuition guide you. Trust what comes up. You know the answers to these questions. It might take a little patience, but when you get still and quiet enough, your most authentic inner knowing will rise to the surface.⁣  ⁣ I’d love to hear how this practice serves you. As I’ve been feeling into my intentions for the As I’ve been feeling into my intentions for the summer, something that keeps coming up for me is the desire for lightness 🔆⁣  ⁣ This summer, I’d like to feel light, free, at ease. I want to have fun and not take things so seriously. I’m prioritizing creating an intentional balance of work and play, of masculine and feminine, of adventure and rest.⁣  ⁣ The energy fuelling all of this is my intention to find the lightness in life.⁣  ⁣ What helps you feel light? If you’d also like to welcome in this energy, how do you think you can do that?⁣  ⁣ I’m trying to allow lightness to inform as many parts of my life as I can, including the books I’m reading, the shows I’m watching, the plans I’m making, and the routines I’m following. I want it all to feel light.⁣  ⁣ Because of my anxiety and depression, it can be difficult for me to reach this place of lightness. With the rising of summer and my continued commitment to nurture my mental health, it’s becoming a little easier everyday to honour my desire for lightness.⁣  ⁣ You can give yourself permission to just let go, to not worry so much about the past and stress so much about the future. You can be here, now, totally light and free.⁣  ⁣ I encourage you to release the pressure even just a little bit. Choose what can wait, and let it wait. Do something just for fun. Let yourself laugh, dance, sing, skip, rest.⁣  ⁣ The light things in life have so much power. They bring joy and sparkle to our days, and remind us of who we really are. They help us stay present and connect with feelings of gratitude and abundance. The beginning of a new month is a powerful time to The beginning of a new month is a powerful time to check in with ourselves, set intentions, and welcome in the energy of the days to come ✨⁣  ⁣ At the start of every month, I do a ritual to reflect on how the past month went and think ahead to what I’d like to welcome into myself and my life in the new month.⁣  ⁣ Do you have a monthly ritual? If you do, what practices make up this ritual and which ones serve you the most? There is so much empowering symbolism in the world There is so much empowering symbolism in the world around us, especially in nature 🌿⁣  ⁣ The natural world is one of the most accessible and most taken for granted places to find empowerment. We can learn so many lessons from the trees, the plants, the mountains, the lakes. The creatures have so much knowledge and the sunshine gives so much life.⁣  ⁣ One of my favourite symbols in nature is the lotus flower. I resonate with the meaning of the lotus on a soul level, and I’m sure many other people do as well. It’s always been a flower that carries a lot of spiritual significance and wise lessons that benefit all who make space to appreciate its beauty 🪷⁣  ⁣ The lotus has many meanings. Some of my favourites are rebirth, overcoming adversity, resilience, purity, strength, and transcendence.⁣  ⁣ These flowers rise from the mud unstained, growing from the darkness and into the light. Its ability to bloom in challenging habitats serve as a reminder that light and dark can coexist and create something beautiful.⁣  ⁣ The journey of the lotus reminds me of my own, and the journey of the human spirit in general. We all go through hard times in life, phases that seemed designed to break us and force us to face the darkest parts of ourselves. Those times are painful, and when they’re happening, it can be difficult to even imagine the possibility of beauty.⁣  ⁣ But it is from these difficult times that the most potent growth comes. We build our strength and our resilience, and we find a way to navigate through the dark to reach the light.⁣  ⁣ Just like the lotus, we all have the ability to bloom in the places where blooming seems impossible. We can rise from the darkness and into the light, resilient and strong. Rebirth is always possible and we can overcome adversity. Transcendence isn’t so far from our reach.⁣  ⁣ There is so much more to learn from the lotus, and I highly recommend taking the time to research its symbolism. And I also encourage you to find something in nature that resonates with your soul so you may learn from its wisdom.⁣  ⁣ Let’s all bloom like the lotus, resilient and beautiful and reborn 🪷

You can find empowerment in the simplest of places You can find empowerment in the simplest of places 🫶⁣ ⁣ Your self-empowerment always comes from within you, but it’s inevitable to have moments when it feels difficult to connect with this part of yourself.⁣  ⁣ It’s completely human to get stuck in some negative self-talk, difficult emotions, or just an overall sense of disconnection from your true self. In those moments, self-empowerment may feel hard to come by.⁣  ⁣ When this happens, reaching out for simple solutions to find empowerment again is a potent act of self-reclamation.⁣  ⁣ Finding empowerment doesn’t always require a lot of effort. You can discover it in the simplest of places, in practices and things and experiences that you may take for granted on a daily basis.⁣  ⁣ You can find empowerment in the embrace of a loved one, in the abundant wisdom of nature, in the rise and fall of a song.⁣  ⁣ You can find empowerment in books and stories, in the movement of your body, in carefree play and laughter.⁣  ⁣ You can find empowerment in the warmth of your tea, in the eyes of your animal friends, in the ink from your pen creating words on the page.⁣  ⁣ You can find empowerment in the stillness, in the silence, and in the surrender.⁣  ⁣ Your empowerment is always within you. You can access it at any time. But when you need a little help, you can find empowerment in the simplest of places.⁣  ⁣ No matter where you choose to look, I hope you find the empowerment you’re seeking.⁣  ⁣ What simple resources do you draw upon to find your empowerment? ☺️
Have you ever struggled with people pleasing? 🤦 Have you ever struggled with people pleasing? 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣  ⁣ This has been one of the biggest issues I’ve faced within myself, even up until this day. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally realized how much of a negative impact this behaviour had on me.⁣  ⁣ People pleasing caused me lots of anxiety, feelings of low self-worth, the inability to make decisions for myself, hyper-awareness on how other people viewed me…the list goes on 😩⁣  ⁣ Overall, the most devastating impact people pleasing had was it created a big disconnection from myself to the point where I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted in life.⁣  ⁣ All I can say is, thank goodness I started doing the inner work to free myself 🙏⁣  ⁣ People pleasing is an incredibly common behaviour that prevents us from living an empowered life. If you struggle with people pleasing and want some inspiration to help liberate yourself, today’s episode of Awaken & Empower is for you! ⁣  ⁣ Listen in for an exploration of what it means to have a people pleasing personality. ✨ Why you need to get your hopes up ⤵️⁣ ⁣ As I’ve been exploring some new opportunities, I caught myself saying “Don’t get your hopes up”. I realized that I say this pretty much every time I’m trying a new opportunity without really thinking about what it means. It’s become a habit, one that I didn’t know was hurting me.⁣  ⁣ This realization came up a couple weeks ago, and I sat with it for a bit, and then on my daily walk, I came across this reminder of hope 🌳⁣  ⁣ In that moment, I knew I needed to stop saying to myself “Don’t get your hopes up”. I need to stop prefacing every chance I take with the possibility that it won’t work out, and convincing myself that when it doesn’t, I won’t be able to handle the disappointment.⁣  ⁣ I’ve tried so many things that haven’t worked out the way I expected or wanted them to. I’ve faced many disappointments and setbacks, moments of existential crisis and loss of identity, and phases where I just wanted to give up and run away.⁣  ⁣ I think because of this, my ego has reverted to this mindset of not wanting to get my hopes up, because I know how it feels to have your hopes absolutely crushed.⁣  ⁣ But without hope, we wouldn’t try anything. Without hope, nothing would change and we’d never feel the excitement of experiencing something new. We’d never grow or expand our comfort zone or transform into more of who we truly are. Life is colourless without hope, so it is in fact imperative to get our hopes up.⁣  ⁣ I’ve decided to give myself permission to get my hopes up, to dare to think that these opportunities actually might work out. And I’m reminding myself that even if they don’t, that’s okay. It’s not the end of the world, it just wasn’t meant to be, and my resiliency will get me through the disappointment.⁣  ⁣ So get your hopes up. You are safe to do so. You deserve to grant yourself the empowering feeling of hope. And if that hope doesn’t lead you to where you thought you’d be, trust the process, find the strength within you to hold yourself up, and reclaim your hope once again ❤️
